Although such schemes provide the aesthetic appearance and good mobility of the marionette figures, they may not accurately reflect the movement of the animals they describe
[0009] On the other hand, marionettes known to accurately reflect the qualities of their real prototypes are provided with controls which are complex and thus difficult to operate
[0010] In general, known marionettes do not provide sufficient degrees of freedom in designing the shape of their bodies, which are severely limited by the need to provide proper movement capabilities for the bodies

Embodiment Construction
[0047]As shown in FIG. 1 , a marionette 1 comprises a multi-part body 3 , which in this embodiment has the form of a dinosaur, and a control device 2 . The control device 2 is composed of plastic material and has the form of a four-armed cross-shaped part, which is oriented horizontally in its current free-hanging position.
[0048] The body 3 includes six rigid plastic parts, which are the head 31 , the neck 32 , the body 33 , the tail 37 and the legs 35 of the dinosaur. The components 31 , 33 , 35 and 37 are active components, which are connected with respective corresponding control lines 41 , 43 , 45 and 47 at control points 411 , 431 , 451 , 471 , while the component 32 is a passive component.
[0049] Generally according to the invention, the number of passive parts between adjacent moving parts is not limited in any way; no passive parts may be used.
[0050] The second end of the steering wire 4 is connected to the cross-shaped controller 2 , wherein the steering wire...

Abstract
The invention relates to a marionette (1 ) comprising a figure (3) having a number of segments, wherein at least two segments (31, 33, 35, 37) are connected by means of steering strings (41, 43, 45, 47) with a control (2) device and at least two segments are substantially rigid. In order to provide a marionette of improved accuracy of representation of the figure with regard to the real object, that would also feature relatively simple construction and would be easier to operate, a connection between at least one active segment (31, 33, 35, 37), which is connected with the control device (2) by means of the steering string (41, 43, 45, 47) exiting the surface of this segment at the steering point (411, 431, 451, 471), and an adjacent segment comprises a convex contact surface (71, 731, 75) on one of these segments and a connection means (5, 81 ); exiting the surfaces of these segments at the connecting points (51, 521, 522, 531, 532, 55) which are displaceable with regard to each other. Furthermore a centroid (711, 7311, 751) of said convex contact surface (71, 731, 75) is located below the connecting point (51, 531, 55) of the segment comprising this convex contact surface (71, 731, 75), and in the predefined free overhang position of the figure (3) a straight line (312, 3321, 3322, 352) between the connecting point (51, 531, 532, 55) of said active segment (31, 33, 35) and the steering point (411, 431, 451 ) of this segment extends above the gravity centre (311, 331, 351) of this segment.
Description
technical field [0001] The invention relates to a marionette comprising a body having a plurality of segments, wherein at least two of the segments are connected by a string with control means, and at least two of the segments are substantially rigid. Background technique [0002] Various marionettes are known from the state of the art. [0003] Patent document US1,901,707 discloses a marionette toy comprising a body in the shape of a human body consisting of a plurality of molded rigid segments connected to a plurality of strings on which the components are threaded and formed Ball and socket joint. [0004] Patent document US 4,048,749 discloses a hand-operated puppet operating a generally articulated bird figure by means of puppet strings on top. Multiple styrofoam and cloth balls are strung together to form the legs and torso with multiple strips of faux fur attached to the torso, and feathers on the head. The parts of the puppet are slidably threaded on strings and a...
