Abstract

The invention discloses applications of povidone-iodine and tea tree oil in preparation of an external combined antibacterial agent. The combined antibacterial agent comprises, by weight, 0.000125 to 12 portions of povidone-iodine and 0.015625 to 2 portions of tea tree oil. The invention also provides a compound disinfectant containing povidone-iodine and tea tree oil, and a preparation method thereof. The combination of povidone-iodine and tea tree oil possesses synergistic interaction, and is capable of increasing the antimicrobial activities of both povidone-iodine and tea tree oil. In addition, tea tree oil is gentle and fragrant, so that olfactory stimulation caused by povidone-iodine is reduced.
