The method includes the steps that starting equipment is used for driving the diesel engine to operate; the oil-control step is conducted, the oil supply quantity of an oil supply system into a cylinder is controlled to be zero, and the diesel engine is made to be in an idling cylinder warming state; the actual operating parameter of the diesel engine is detected; the comparative judgment step is carried out, the actual operating parameter is compared with a preset operating parameter in which the diesel engine can be started normally, and whether the starting condition is achieved or not is judged; if the judging result is negative, the oil-control step will be returned; if the judging result is positive, the oil supply system is controlled to supply oil into the cylinder so that normal starting can be achieved. According to the method for cold starting of the diesel engine, the diesel engine does not need to be adjusted, simpleness and practicability are achieved, cost is low, the phenomena of the imbalance air-fuel mixture ratio and cylinder flooding can not occur in the starting process, and therefore the problem that the diesel engine is hard to start under a low-temperature condition is effectively solved.
