Embodiment 1

[0082] Dehydrofluorination of HFC-245fa over selected catalysts

[0083] Three different catalysts, namely fluorinated metal oxides, metal fluorides and supported metals were used for the dehydrofluorination of 245fa in Example 1. In each case 20cc of catalyst was used. 100% 245fa feed was passed over the catalyst at a flow rate of 12 g / hr. As shown in Table 1, all catalysts listed in Table 1 showed high activity (>80% conversion of 245fa) and high cis / trans 1234ze selectivity (>90%) during 245 dehydrofluorination.

[0086]

[0087] Reaction conditions: 20cc catalyst, 12g / hour 245fa, 1atm

[0088] * Others include 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, 3,3,3-trifluoropropyne and the like.

Embodiment 2

[0090] Isomerization of cis-1234ze over selected catalysts

[0091] Three different catalysts, namely fluorinated metal oxides, metal fluorides and supported metals were used for the isomerization of cis-1234ze in Example 2. In each case 20cc of catalyst was used. A mixture of 85.3% cis-1234ze / 14.7% 245fa was flowed over the catalyst at a rate of 12 g / hr. For a particular catalyst, care is taken to select an appropriate reaction temperature such that little dehydrofluorination of the HFC-245fa contained in the feed occurs. As shown in Table 2, all catalysts listed in Table 2 provided high activity (>80% conversion of cis-1234ze) during cis-1234ze isomerization except for 0.5 wt. High selectivity (>95%) for trans-1234ze. The 0.5 wt% Co / AC catalyst showed moderate activity (45% conversion of cis-1234ze) and high selectivity to trans-1234ze (about 98%).

Embodiment 3

[0097] cis-1234ze using fluorinated Cr in the presence of HF 2 o 3 Isomerization

[0098] In this example, obtained from Reactor 1 (in which 245fa in fluorinated Cr 2 o 3 The product stream of the dehydrofluorination reaction on the catalyst at 350 ° C) is introduced into reactor 2, which is also equipped with fluorinated Cr 2 o 3 The catalyst was to carry out the isomerization reaction of cis-1234ze at 100 or 200°C in the presence of HF (which was formed during the dehydrofluorination of 245fa in reactor 1). Table 3 shows the composition of the exit gases from the two reactors. At 100 °C, the mole percent of trans-1234ze in the outlet gas of Reactor 2 is slightly higher than that in the outlet gas of Reactor 1, while the mole percent of cis-1234ze is slightly lower and the molar percent of 245fa is about the same . Since the molar ratio of trans-1234ze to cis-1234ze slightly increased after the isomerization reaction (e.g., from 3.96 to 4.36 after 1 hour of operatio...

Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integrated HFC trans-1234ZE manufacture process.SOLUTION: Provided is an integrated process for the manufacture of HFO trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO trans-1234ze) by first catalytically dehydrofluorinating 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane to thereby produce a mixture of cis-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene and hydrogen fluoride; and then optionally recovering hydrogen fluoride, catalytically isomerizing cis-1234ze into trans-1234ze, and recovering trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene.

Description

[0001] This application is a divisional application, and its parent case is an application with an application date of August 23, 2007, an application number of 200710185733.7, and an invention title of "Integral Manufacturing Method of HFC Trans-1234ZE". [0002] Cross references to related applications [0003] This application claims priority to US Provisional Patent Application No. 60 / 839,874, filed August 24, 2006, which is hereby incorporated by reference. technical field [0004] The present invention relates to an integrated process for the production of trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO trans-1234ze). More specifically, the present invention relates to the production of cis-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, trans-1 , A mixture of 3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene and hydrogen fluoride, thereby producing a method for HFO trans-1234ze. Hydrogen fluoride is then optionally recovered, cis-1234ze is catalytically isomerized to trans-1234ze, and trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene is ...
