The method includes the following steps: determining an evaluation and scoring standard for the short-range parallel shooting quality of the stereo camera: setting the shooting distance as h, camera distance as d, camera focal distance as f and selecting a relational expression of f and d / h as an index of stereo image quality evaluation; selecting a ratio CE / BF of a binoculus overlapping region and a binoculus view field as another objective evaluation index; establishing a corresponding relation of the two objective evaluation indexes: the CE / BF value range and an objective evaluation value of the stereo image quality; using the stereo camera to shoot stereo image pairs under a short-range parallel setting condition; and according to the values of the two indexes, obtaining the objective evaluation result of the shot stereo image pairs.
