Abstract

The invention discloses a paper-shredder broken-document restoration method based on English character characteristics and belongs to the technical field of image processing. The document restoration method includes four steps of image digitalization, image preprocessing, image clustering and image splicing. The image preprocessing refers to applying matlab software to feed each piece of broken paper so as to generate a gray-level matrix corresponding to each piece of broken paper, and carrying out binarization processing on the gray-level matrixes so as to generate a binary sequence. The image clustering step refers to rendering of the binary sequence according to the English character characteristics and clustering original images according to the rendering result. The image splicing step refers to carrying out longitudinal splicing on the original image according to the clustering result based on a minimum cumulative edge distance principle and the carrying out transverse splicing on the splicing result. The paper-shredder broken-document restoration method based on the English character characteristics solves a restoration problem of English documents which are broken by a paper shredder and fills blanks of the prior art and at the same time, through clustering, the splicing efficiency is improved significantly.
