Abstract

An anti-rollback system (26) for use with a mobile machine (10) having an engine (22) and a transmission (24) is disclosed. The anti-rollback system may have an input device (18) configured to receive an input indicative of a desired direction of travel of the mobile machine, a sensor (42) configured to generate a signal indicative of an actual direction of travel of the mobile machine , and a controller (40) in communication with the input device, the sensor, the engine, and the transmission. The controller may be configured to make a determination based on the signal that the actual direction of travel of the mobile machine is opposite the desired direction of travel and determine a load on the transmission. The controller may also be configured to selectively increase the torque output of the transmission based on the determination only when the load on the transmission is less than a threshold value.
