Abstract

An embodiment of the invention provides an updating message transmitting method and device in autonomous system (AS) loop networking. AS loop networking comprises a first router and a second router. The second router is located in a first AS. The method includes: the first router receives the loopback ability value, transmitted by the second router, of the second router; the first router determines the number of first AS serial number contained in the AS path attribute carried by the border gateway protocol (BGP) updating message to be transmitted to the second router; when the first router determines that the number is not larger than the loopback ability value of the second router, the BGP updating message is transmitted to the second router. The method has the advantages that whether to transmit the updating message to the receiving end or not is determined according to the loopback ability value transmitted by the receiving end, transceiving workload of the updating message can be reduced effectively, and utilization rate of the CPU of the router and link bandwidth is increased.
