The method comprises the steps that when firmware upgrading is carried out on APs in each upgrading group, one AP in the upgrading group is selected by an AC, and firmware upgrading is carried out on the AP; the AC informs the APs without firmware upgrading to be the specified APs obtained after firmware upgrading, the APs without firmware upgrading are correlated to the specified APs obtained after firmware upgrading for firmware upgrading, and after firmware upgrading is finished, the AC is restarted and correlated; the step is repeated until no AP without firmware upgrading exists in the upgrading groups. Based on the same inventive concept, the invention further provides an AP firmware upgrading device.
