Abstract

A device for driving light-emitting diode string with high-voltage applied comprises a plurality of light-emitting diodes which are divided into a plurality of light-emitting diode sections connected in series, and a plurality of current limiters which respectively comprise three connecting ends and are controlled by voltage. Each current limiter corresponds to one light-emitting diode section, each first connecting end is connected with the negative end of the corresponding light-emitting diode section, a bias voltage is applied to each second connecting end, the third connecting ends are connected to a common node in a light-emitting diode device, and the common node is connected to the ground through a current source. A power loss reducing circuit of the light-emitting diode sections is further added between the common node and the current source to reduce the power loss, caused by the high voltage at the common node, of the current source, wherein the power loss reducing circuit is controlled by a light-emitting diode control circuit.
