[0023] The Global Positioning System ("GPS") and other similar Satellite Positioning Systems (SPS) enable navigation services for mobile handsets in outdoor environments. A Global Navigation Satellite System (“GNSS”) (e.g., GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, etc.) may enable a terrestrial navigation receiver to process one or more SPS signals to obtain pseudorange measurements from the navigation receiver to the transmitter. Using pseudorange measurements from a sufficient number of transmitters and knowledge of the transmitter's location, a navigation receiver can estimate its position. SPS signals can be encoded with repeating sequence codes. In one embodiment, the receiver may attempt to determine a pseudorange measurement from the obtained SPS signal based at least in part on a detected code phase associated with the obtained SPS signal using well-known techniques.
