Abstract

The invention provides a finger detection element and a detection method for a fingerprint sensing integrated circuit. The finger detection element comprises a plurality of sensing electrodes, a capacitance inductive layer, a signal processing circuit, a multiplex processing module, and a signal temporary storage region. The sensing electrodes are used to define a fingerprint sensing region. The capacitance inductive layer covers the plurality of sensing electrodes. The signal processing circuit is disposed below the plurality of sensing electrodes and is electrically connected with the plurality of sensing electrodes. The multiplex processing module is used to define a finger detection region. The finger detection region comprises at least a sensing electrode. The signal temporary storage region is electrically connected with the signal processing circuit, and is used to receive a detection signal generated by the finger detection region and compare the detection signal with a preset value. Through just starting at least a part of sensing electrodes, whether a finger gets close or contact can be detected, so as to start the circuit or come into dormancy, thereby saving electric power.
