Embodiments relate to a magnetic field sensor, such as a magnetic field angle sensor having a substantially coaxial arrangement of sensor elements relative to the axis of rotation of a magnet or shaft. The shaft includes or is coupled to an end portion comprising a soft magnetic material, wherein in an embodiment the end portion has an end surface near the sensor that is rotationally asymmetric relative to an axis of rotation extending through the length of the shaft.
