Abstract

The invention discloses a composite modified starch for emulsification of a surface sizing agent, a preparation method and application thereof. According to the invention, starch is subjected to etherification, oxidation, grafting and esterification in order so as to obtain the composite modified starch. With the composite modified starch, and according to the soap-free emulsion polymerization surface sizing agent conventional preparation method, a styrene-butyl acrylate surface sizing agent can be obtained. The preparation method has no need of additional adding emulsifying or stabilizing substances, and also needs no high-speed shearing, and the obtained styrene-butyl acrylate surface sizing agent has good stability. The sizing solution prepared from the styrene-butyl acrylate surface sizing agent and oxidized starch can significantly improve the waterproofness and strength of finished paper after coating the paper.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the field of papermaking chemicals preparation technology, and in particular relates to a composite modified starch used for emulsifying surface sizing agents, a preparation method and application thereof. Background technique [0002] Modified starch is an important papermaking chemical. Modification methods include oxidation, etherification, esterification, enzymatic conversion, cross-linking and grafting, etc. Among them, etherification is mainly cationization. Modified starch can be used in various aspects of papermaking, such as retention aids, dry strength agents, interlayer binders, surface sizing agents, and coating adhesives. Because various modification methods can obtain different changes in starch properties, and the performance requirements of modified starch in each papermaking process are also different, so different modified starches are used. Starch molecule is a natural polymer composed of multiple glucose un...
