The method comprises: first routing equipment calculates a processing time of a single routing update message according to the single routing update message sent by second routing equipment, calculates the maximal sending rate of the second routing equipment for sending the routing update message, carries the calculated processing time of the single routing update message and the maximal sending rate in the routing update message to send the same to the second routing equipment, to enable the second routing equipment to periodically send a routing update message group to the first routing equipment to update a local routing list of the first routing equipment, wherein the number of routing update messages contained in the routing update message group is not larger than the maximal sending rate, and the sending period of the routing update message group is not smaller than a product of the number of the routing update messages contained in the routing update message group actually sent by the second routing equipment and the processing time of the single routing update message.
