[0020] The present disclosure generally relates to counterattack UAV systems and related methods. A typical counter-attack UAV system according to certain embodiments includes an interceptor UAV, which is launched toward the detected target UAV. For example, the target UAV is detected by a land-based detector, which will trigger the interceptor UAV launch sequence. Then, the interceptor UAV flies autonomously to intercept the target UAV. During at least one stage of operation, the interceptor UAV can receive signals from the ground to help direct the interceptor UAV toward the target. During another phase of operation, the interceptor UAV can operate without such assistance, for example, when it engages a target UAV. The interceptor UAV can disable the target UAV, for example, by deploying a net that interferes with the flight of the target UAV and causes the target UAV to hit the ground.
