Embodiment Construction

[0031] The present disclosure relates to cable routing systems. While not limited thereto, an appreciation of various aspects of the disclosure will be gained through a discussion of the examples provided below.

[0032] now refer to Figure 1-2 , a first embodiment of the cable routing system 100 . The system 100 is used to route fiber optic cables and may include a number of components such as slots, elbows, fittings, couplings, upcomers and downcomers, and the like. In this example, only a portion of the cable routing system 100 is shown.

[0033] The cable routing system 100 includes side slots 110 that define cable paths for routing fiber optic cables between a plurality of locations. The side slot 110 includes a base 116 and upstanding side walls 112, 114 forming a generally U-shape. The side channel 110 is part of a cable routing system 100 that is typically installed in structures such as buildings with fiber optic signal transmission equipment. The side channels ...

Abstract

An exemplary outlet structure for a cable routing system includes: a fitting configured to couple to the side channel, the fitting including first and second arms extending perpendicular to the longitudinal direction; a plate positioned relative to the fitting, wherein the plate is configured to slide relative to the fitting to adjust the distance the plate extends perpendicularly from the base of the side slot; and an exit member coupled to the plate defining a surface that guides optical fibers away from the exit structure.

Description

[0001] This application was filed as a PCT International Patent Application on May 20, 2014, and it claims U.S. Patent Application No. 61 / 910,727, filed December 2, 2013, U.S. Patent Application No. 61 / 910,727, filed September 30, 2013 Priority of Application No. 61 / 884,699, U.S. Patent Application No. 61 / 883,741, filed September 27, 2013, and U.S. Patent Application No. 61 / 825,369, filed May 20, 2013 rights, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. Background technique [0002] In the telecommunications industry, the use of fiber optics for signal transmission is proliferating. As fiber optic system applications grow, fiber optic cable management requires industry attention. One area where fiber management is required is the routing of optical fibers from one component of fiber optic equipment to another. For example, in a telecommunications facility, fiber optic cables may be run between accessory fiber optic distribution equipment and optical lin...
