The device comprises a box body and a detection circuit embedded into the box body, wherein the detection circuit comprises an MCU (Micro-programmed Control Unit) control unit, an electric energy metering unit, a digital tube display unit, a power supply unit, a signal indication lamp unit, a buzzer, an operational amplification unit, a difference operational amplification unit, a current mutual induction unit, a current measuring unit and a voltage measuring unit. The method comprises the following steps: an equipment switching-in worker switches the device into a connection line of a monitor of the lightning arrester; and voltage and current are detected, and response of an indication lamp and the buzzer is combined to judge whether a temporary grounding wire is reliably grounded or not. The online monitoring type intelligent electrified switching-in protection device can be used for directly and reliably judging whether the grounding wire is reliably grounded or not; and functions of displaying grounding current and voltage by a digital tube and alarming by the buzzer and the like can be used for reminding the equipment switching-in worker that whether the temporary grounding wire is reliably grounded or not, so that hidden dangers are eliminated and safety coefficients of production are improved.
