The present invention provides systems and methods for output current regulation in power conversion systems. One class of example system controllers includes: a detection component configured to receive an input voltage associated with a diode connected to an inductor, and to output a first signal at a first logic level in response to the input voltage being greater than a predetermined threshold; a control logic component configured to receive a first signal, process information associated with the first signal, and output a modulated signal related to a modulation frequency in response to the first signal being at a first logic level; and drive A component, the drive component is configured to receive a modulation signal, and output a drive signal to open or close the first switch at a modulation frequency.
