Abstract

The invention provides an audio/video transmission method and device. The method comprises following steps of determining the minimum length of video fields in MAC (Media Access Control) frames according to the total length of the MAC frames and a preset video transmission efficiency threshold value; determining the minimum length of audio fields in the MAC frames according to the total length of the MAC frames and a preset audio sampling efficiency threshold value; determining the maximum length of information fields in the MAC frames according to the length of the custom fields in the MAC frames, the minimum length of the video fields and the minimum length of the audio fields; filling to-be-transmitted audio/video data to the custom fields of the MAC frames according to the minimum length of the video fields, the minimum length of the audio fields, the maximum length of the information fields and actual transmission demands; and sending the data to a receiving end. Through application of the embodiment of the method and the device, synchronous audio transmission can be realized by using existing twisted pair on the basis of transmitting high-definition videos by using the twisted pair.
