The invention discloses a flocculating agent for chemical wastewater and a preparation method thereof. The flocculating agent for chemical wastewater comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight: 20-30 parts of nonionic monomer, 3-5 parts of anionic monomer, 10-20 parts of cationic monomer, 2-4 parts of dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate, 0.05-0.09 part of initiator, 0.3-0.5 part of ammonium persulfate, 120-140 parts of deionized water and 20-40 parts of fly ash, wherein the nonionic monomer includes acrylamide, methacrylamide and nitrogen substitute thereof. The flocculating agent disclosed by the invention has the advantages of higher density of charged groups, stronger adsorbing and capturing abilities against suspended particles, high-temperature resistance, high-salt resistance and acid-base resistance; compared with other flocculating agents, the flocculating agent has the characteristics of high broad-spectrum property, good stability and good flocculating effect; and in sewage treatment, the flocculating agent has better decolorizing effect and DOD removal effect and realizes comprehensive control of sewage, the chemical treatment effect on sewage is enhanced, and the waste fly ash is turned into wealth while comprehensive utilization is realized.
