Abstract

The invention discloses a multi-cloud storage system expansion method based on an RAID4 (Redundant Array of Independent Disks). The method comprises the following steps that a cloud user locally uploads file data to an object storage service of each cloud which is registered and purchases the service, and data blocks are stored between the clouds in an RAID4 way; and when a user needs to transfer some of the data in the existing cloud to a new cloud for some reasons and maintains the data between the clouds to be still stored in the RAID4 way, the user selects and transfers some of data to the new cloud from the cloud storing the original data, sends some of the transferred data to a check cloud and applies computing resources of the check cloud to compute a new check block to guarantee a new multi-cloud storage system to be still stored in the RAID4 way. The method is based on storage in the RAID4 way, so that an error 1 can be tolerant; in addition, the bandwidth resources can be exchanged through consuming the computing resources of the check cloud, so that the transfer data volume due to expansion can be reduced.
