Abstract

The indoor positioning method comprises the steps of converting a three-dimensional hyperboloid formed by user equipment, a first base station and a second base station into a two-dimensional hyperbola which takes the bottom part of the first base station and the bottom part of the second base station as focuses according to the observed time difference of arrival, wherein the user equipment is located at the two-dimensional hyperbola; and dividing the difference between a first distance between the user equipment and the bottom part of the first base station and a distance between the user equipment and the bottom part of the second base station by the light speed so as to acquire the time difference of arrival. The method and the system provided by the invention realize quick indoor positioning, greatly improve the positioning accuracy, and are particularly applicable to a condition that a plurality of base stations are arranged at different heights respectively.
