Abstract

The invention provides a method for determining the subsurface fracture opening. The method particularly comprises the steps that a fracture detection area is determined, lithostatic confining pressure of the area where a subsurface fracture with the depth x is located is measured, and the subsurface fracture opening ei is calculated according to the formula ei=a<f(x)>+b, wherein f (x) is the lithostatic confining pressure of the area where the subsurface fracture with the depth x is located, and a and b are both fitting coefficients obtained through digital fitting. According to the technical scheme, a feasible way is provided for determining the fracture opening, porosity and permeability under the formation confining pressure condition, real distribution of the natural fracture opening, natural fracture porosity and natural fracture permeability under different formation confining pressure conditions can be restored quantificationally, and an effective means is provided for objectively and reasonably evaluating the reservoir and seepage effects and contribution of natural fractures in a compact low permeability reservoir.
