Abstract

The invention relates to a method and device for emergency braking of an elevator. The method comprises the steps of: receiving an emergency braking command, acquiring the current speed of the elevator and comparing the current speed with a predetermined speed value; if the current speed is greater than or equal to the predetermined speed value, controlling switch elements in an inverter to switch on/off, respectively, wherein any two phases in three phase outputs of the inverter are short-circuited; and if the current speed is smaller than the predetermined speed value, controlling switch elements in an inverter to switch on/off, respectively, wherein three phase outputs of the inverter are short-circuited; the three phase outputs of the inverter correspond to three phase inputs of a motor, respectively. According to the method and device provided by the invention, free operation of a car during emergency braking of the elevator can be eliminated, so that the safety of the elevator is improved.
