Abstract

The method comprises the steps of firstly performing blocking on an infrared and visible image; then searching a consistent area in which each image block exists, performing combined sparse coding on the consistent area and calculating a significance measure; and finally performing weighted fusion on corresponding image blocks according to the significance measure, and assembling all fusing image blocks for obtaining a fused image. Compared with the prior art, the infrared and visible light image fusion method has advantages of storing structure information which is locally insignificant and is non-locally significant, effectively improving structure integrity and area consistency of the fused image, etc.
