Embodiment Construction

[0151] figure 1 A drug delivery device in the form of an injection pen is shown. The device has a remote ( figure 1 the left end of the center) and the proximal end ( figure 1 the right end of the middle). The components of a drug delivery device are figure 2 shown in . The drug delivery device comprises a body or housing 10, a cartridge holder 20, a lead screw (piston rod) 30, a drive sleeve 40, a nut 50, a dose indicator (number sleeve) 60, a button 70, a dial handle or dose Selector 80 , torsion spring 90 , cartridge 100 , metering element 110 , clutch plate 120 , clutch spring 130 and support 140 . A needle assembly (not shown) with needle hub and needle cover can be provided as an additional component, which needle assembly is replaceable as described above. All parts around image 3 The common main axis I of the shown mechanisms is located concentrically.

Abstract

The present invention is generally directed to a drug delivery device for selecting and dispensing a number of user variable doses of a medicament comprising a clicker arrangement. The device comprises a housing (10), a dose selector (80) operable to set a dose by rotation relative to the housing (10), a number sleeve (60) coupled to the dose selector (80) and arranged within the housing (10) such that at least a portion of the number sleeve (60) is visible through a first aperture (11b) in the housing (10), a piston rod (30) coupled to the housing (10) and to a drive sleeve (40) such that rotation of the drive sleeve (40) relative to the housing (10) causes the piston rod (30) to translate relative to the housing (10), a clutch (120) arranged between the number sleeve (60) and the drive sleeve (40), and a dispense clicker comprising a flexible arm (123) and a toothed profile (75). The device further comprises a button (70) operable to effect dose dispensing. The clutch comprises a separate clutch element (120) which is permanently rotationally constrained to the number sleeve (60). The flexible arm (123) is provided on the clutch element (120) and the toothed profile (75) is provided on the button (70).

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention generally relates to a drug delivery device comprising a clicker assembly, in particular a dispensing clicker generating a feedback signal during dispensing of a dose. The drug delivery device is adapted to select and dispense several user variable doses of medicaments. Background technique [0002] Pen-type drug delivery devices may be used where routine injections are performed by persons without formal medical training. This may be increasingly common in patients with diabetes, where self-treatment enables such patients to effectively manage their disease. In practice, such drug delivery devices allow the user to individually select and dispense a plurality of user variable doses of medicament. The present invention does not relate to so-called fixed dose devices, which only allow to dispense a predetermined dose without the possibility to increase or decrease the set dose. [0003] There are basically two types of drug deli...
