Abstract

The present invention provides a heat treatment process for an axle shaft steel. The heat treatment process comprises: (1) first normalizing, wherein the temperature is 840-880 DEG C, the thermal insulation time is 3-5 h, and then cooling is performed to less than 500 DEG C; (2) second normalizing, wherein the temperature is 800-840 DEG C, the thermal insulation time is 3-5 h, and then cooling is performed to less than 250 DEG C; and (3) tempering, wherein the temperature is 660-690 DEG C, the thermal insulation time is 3-5 h, and then cooling is performed to a room temperature. The invention further discloses an axle shaft prepared by using the heat treatment process. According to the present invention, the problem that the existing 41CrMo steel does not have the matched heat treatment process is solved, such that the strength of the 41CrMo steel is ensured while the toughness of the axle shaft steel is improved, and the comprehensive performance of the axle shaft steel obtained after the heat treatment is substantially improved.
