The invention provides an image lossless compression system which comprises a status register unit, a data distributor, a S-O-F inserter, a differencing encoding unit and a code stream synthesizer. The status register unit is used for registering and outputting each sequence number of at least one frame of received image; the data distributor is used for receiving the image and gating the S-O-F inserter or the differencing encoding unit according to the sequence number; the S-O-F inserter and the differencing encoding unit output processed data to the code stream synthesizer; and the code stream synthesizer carries out integration and sequentially gates output and compressed image information according to the sequence number. The invention further provides an image lossless compression method. The spatial redundancy in the image is effectively reduced; the image lossless compression system and method are easy for image alignment and rapid retrieval; an algorithm is simple and high in degree of parallelism; the image lossless compression system and method are easy for hardware transplantation of the algorithm; real-time image compression under an ultrahigh data bandwidth can be implemented; and image information is lossless.
