Abstract

A semiconductor device including a memory system is configured to receive an input of search data and search in parallel for data held in a memory in a corresponding row of a memory cell array such as a CAM. The storage system detects whether the influx of input search data is at least a fixed amount by monitoring the filling ratio of the FIFO buffer held by the search command. The storage system controls the speed of the search processing by dividing the storage unit array into multiple blocks and setting each block as a search processing object according to the detection result.
