Abstract

The present invention relates to a system and method for managing basic input and output system settings, in particular to a BIOS whose configuration can be stored in a computer system. The default BIOS state can be set as a locked state. The BIOS state may be changed from the locked state to the unlocked state when an authentication request is received and when the authentication information of the received authentication request matches the authentication information stored in the BIOS.
