Abstract

A modular data center system and method for constructing a modular data center building is disclosed. A plurality of structural posts are used to support a plurality of unit structures at desired heights above the floor surface relative to the floor surface. Also included is a pair of elongated support rails coupled vertically to the plurality of structural columns at approximately the desired height to form two parallel, horizontal, and spaced apart tracks. Each of the unit structures includes a plurality of carriage assemblies, each carriage assembly including wheels. The wheels enable the unit structure to be rolled horizontally on the pair of elongated support rails to a desired position when constructing the modular data center building to speed up the assembly of the modular data center building.
