The charging system comprises at least one charging host and a plurality of charging terminals electrically connected with the charging hosts correspondingly; each stereo parking space in the stereo garage is provided with the corresponding charging terminal and comprises a moving vehicle carrying plate and a fixed frame; each charging terminal comprises a fixedly-arranged first terminal body and a second terminal body arranged on the corresponding moving vehicle carrying plate and used for being connected with an electric vehicle; and the moving vehicle carrying plates enter the stereo parking spaces, and meanwhile the second terminal bodies and the first terminal bodies of the charging terminals are automatically abutted to conduct charging operation. According to the automatic abutting joint charging system and charging method for the stereo garage, the charging terminals are divided into the second terminal bodies moving along with the moving vehicle carrying plates and the first terminal bodies fixed in the stereo parking spaces and connected with the charging hosts, and the problems that a charging cable of a traditional wired charging system cannot move along with a moving vehicle carrying plate, and the cable cannot be abutted in the stereo parking spaces are solved.
