A thermal coupling assembly (210) for facilitating thermal transfer between a heat source (202) and a heat sink (204) is provided herein. The thermal coupling assembly (210) includes a thermally conductive element (212), an insulative wrap (214), and a cover (216). The thermally conductive element (212) includes a first end wall (222) configured to engage a surface (232) of the heat source (202), a second end wall (224) configured to engage a surface (234) of the heat sink (204), and a body (230) including a thermal conductor. The insulative wrap (214) at least partially surrounds the thermally conductive element (212), the heat source (202), and the heat sink (204). The cover (216) at least partially surrounds at least one of the insulative wrap (214), the thermally conductive element (212), the heat source (202), and the heat sink (204).

Background technique [0002] As gas turbine engines become more efficient and powerful, controlling the temperature of the various components of the engine becomes more critical yet more difficult. In an engine system, the fuel rail is a critical component because it is responsible for delivering fuel to the core engine for combustion. However, in at least some known engine systems, the fuel manifold is positioned adjacent to the core engine, and as such is subject to heat transfer from the core engine by radiation and convection. Such heat transfer results in increased temperature of the fuel conduits in the fuel rail as well as the fuel itself, which leads to fuel coke accumulation in the fuel rail and / or in the fuel nozzles.
