A subcooler is further arranged between the outdoor heat exchanger and the indoor unit expansion valve and comprises a subcooler expansion valve. The control method comprises the steps that S10, the air conditioner is controlled to start up in a refrigeration mode; S20, the aperture EXV1 of the subcooler expansion valve and the aperture EXV2 of the inner unit expansion valve are controlled, accordingly, the system supercooling degree is established, and the superheat degree of the indoor unit is guaranteed. By means of the control method, cavitation noise of the indoor unit during air conditioner refrigeration start running can be lowered, and then the problem of liquid flow noise of the indoor unit can be effectively solved.
