Abstract

The invention discloses a dual mode brake control system of a locomotive. The dual mode brake control system of the locomotive comprises a relay valve and a pressure equalization controller, and further comprises a mode change-over valve, an electrical interlocking change-over cock and a brake controller. When the electrical interlocking change-over cock is in a triggered state, the air inlet and the air outlet thereof communicate with each other, otherwise the air inlet and the air outlet thereof are cut off; and when the electrical interlocking change-over cock is triggered, the brake controller enables the air outlet and the second air inlet of the mode change-over valve to communicate with each other, otherwise the air outlet and the first air inlet of the mode change-over valve are enabled to communicate with each other. In this way, the brake controller can control the braking modes of the mode change-over valve under the state change-over of the electrical interlocking change-over cock, and thus free switching between the independent braking mode and the backup braking mode can be realized. Compared with the prior art, a backup brake controller as well as an additional air circuit does not need to be separately provided for the backup braking mode, so that an extra space is not occupied, and wiring complexity of the brake system is lowered.
