The method includes the steps of preparing parameter data; setting a size range of sample points on a cross-plot; calculating the color of each sample point based on the parameter data; calculating the size of each sample point based on the parameter data; and based on the parameter data, drawing the cross-plot based on the calculated color and size. By using the method of the invention for drawing the cross-plot, the multi-parameter cross-plot can express one more piece of parameter information on the plane than a three-parameter cross-plot, and when some information is picked up on the cross-plot, the pick-up error can be reduced so that too many errors will not occur during back projection. The multi-parameter cross-plot obtained using such technology will be conducive to accurate reflection of reservoir characteristics and the search of oil-bearing or gas-bearing reservoirs and serve the exploration and development of conventional oil and gas, coalbed methane and shale oil and gas.
