Abstract

The invention relates to a device and method for detecting spot welding quality in real time through an ultrasonic penetration signal. The device comprises ultrasonic probes, and an ultrasonic detector and a computer connected to the ultrasonic probes. The device also comprises a spot welding machine and spot welding electrodes. The spot welding electrode is provided with a cooling water hole communicated with a cavity. The ultrasonic probes comprise a transmitting probe and a receiving probe. The spot welding electrodes comprise an upper electrode and a lower electrode. The transmitting probe is inserted in the upper electrode. The receiving probe is inserted in the lower electrode. The method comprises S1, starting the spot welding machine, the ultrasonic detector and the computer and S2, in the process of resistance spot welding on a plate, emitting a series of ultrasonic scanning pulses through the transmitting probe and converting the transmission ultrasonic signal received by the receiving probe into an ultrasonic transmission oscillogram.
