Abstract

The embodiment of the invention provides a method and apparatus for transmitting frame data between a near end device and a far end device. The method comprises the following steps: generating a basic frame with a self-defined frame format, wherein a physical layer PHY conversion chip is built in the near end device, the basic frame comprises a first number of super groups, the super group comprises a second number of basic groups, and the basic group comprises media access control (MAC) frame structure data and a frame gap; matching the time length of the MAC frame structure data and the frame gap with the output time sequence of the physical layer PHY conversion chip; and converting the basic frame into an optical fiber signal by the physical layer PHY conversion chip, and sending the optical fiber signal to the far end device. In the method and apparatus provided by the embodiment of the invention, the frame structure is self defined, each basic frame comprises a plurality of super groups, and each super group comprises a plurality of basic groups; and each basic group is composed of the MAC frame structure data and the frame gap. The time length of the MAC frame structure data and the frame gap is matched with the output time sequence of the physical layer PHY conversion chip, so that the bottom layer PHY conversion chip can normally receive and send data.
