Abstract

The XOR operation implementation method comprises the following steps: injecting a first path signal into a high-nonlinearity optical fiber loop; meanwhile, injecting a second path signal into the high-nonlinearity optical fiber loop; meanwhile, injecting a detection signal into the high-nonlinearity optical fiber loop; and receivingthe detection signal from a receiving end, wherein the detection signal is taken as an XOR operation result of the first path signal and the second path signal, the first path signal and the second path signal have the same optical wavelength, and the first path signal and the second path signal have different transmission directions when being injected into the high-nonlinearity optical fiber loop. Through adoption of a communication method based on the high-nonlinearity optical fiber, an XOR operation is implemented based on a cross-phase modulation (XPM) effect between a nonlinear opticalloop mirror structure and the high-nonlinearity optical fiber; high coding and decoding calculation speeds are achieved; a large amount of time is saved; and the high-nonlinearity optical fiber is high in response speed. The communication method can be used for processing high-speed Tb / s optical signals. The invention also relates to a communication method based on a high-nonlinearity optical fiber.
