The method comprises the steps that the acceleration signals of the front chest part of the human body inthe constant-speed walking process are collected through a three-axis acceleration sensor; the temporal sequence of the signals is subjected to frequency-domain quadratic integration, and the displacement temporal sequence in the walking process is obtained; based on the gravity displacement change in the movement process, the gait characteristic value is extracted; based on the gait characteristic value, the gait asymmetry coefficient in the moving process of the left and right legs is calculated; according to the asymmetry coefficient, the gait asymmetry in the movement process of the humanbody is detected. By means of the method, the movement characteristic value can be directly extracted in the movement data and calculated, no special devices are needed, meanwhile, the requirements ofoperation staff for specialized knowledge are reduced, the obtained measurement result is high in reference value, and the method is suitable for the daily health care of the elderly in families, nursing homes and other sites.
