Abstract

The load control device for controlling the amount of power delivered to the electrical load is capable of operating in normal mode and burst mode. The load control device includes a control circuit that enables the inverter circuit during the active state period and deactivates the inverter circuit during the inactive state period. The control circuit is operable in a normal mode to regulate the average magnitude of load current conducted through the electrical load above the minimum rated current. The control circuit can operate in burst mode to adjust the average magnitude of the load current below the minimum rated current.
