The transflective display device works in a transmission mode or a reflection mode; in the transmission mode, backlight is turned on, the light transmittance of the backlight is controlled by the liquid crystal display devices according to gray scale data to form an image, and the image passes through the electrowetting display devices; in the reflection mode, the backlight is turned off, the liquid crystal display devices are shut down, and the electrowetting display devices control the reflectivity of ambient light according to the gray scale data so as to form an image.
