The geomagnetism-assisted indoor positioning method sequentially comprises the following steps that an electronic indoor plane map of a building is built; places where geomagnetism data needs to be acquired in a positioning area are divided; wireless positioning is conducted through a user terminal; a geomagnetic sensor is arranged in the user terminal; if positioning succeeds, the user terminal uploads a positioning result and information acquired by the geomagnetic sensor to a background server; if positioning fails, the positioning mode is switched to geomagnetism positioning, the geomagnetic sensor acquires geomagnetism positioning information and sends the geomagnetism positioning information to the background server through the user terminal; and the background server forms and updates the fingerprint database and returns the positioning result to the user terminal.
