The method comprises the following steps: a network device determines a reference signal resource pool; the networkdevice sends indication information to a terminal device; the network device sends first configuration information and/or second information to the terminal device according to the reference signal resource pool; and the network device sends a first type of reference signals to the terminal device according to the first configuration information, and/or the network device sends a second type of reference signals to the terminal device according to the second configuration information. By adoption of the signal transmission method and apparatus provided by the embodiment of the invention, theresources used by different kinds of reference signals can be flexibly allocated, thereby improving resource utilization rate.
