The method comprises the steps of requesting for a reading cache permission to a metadata server in a distributed system; judging whether a reply message containing the reading cache permission and sent by the metadata server is received in a preset duration or not; if not, querying and judging whether the obtained reading cache permission existsin a local permission record or not; and if the obtained reading cache permission exists in the local permission record, performing data file reading by utilizing the obtained reading cache permission. According to the method, a client reading data files can search for the obtained reading cache permission in the local permission record when being in a waiting state due to the face that other clients concurrently read attribute information of the data files, and perform data file reading, so that long-time waiting is prevented, the reading jamming phenomenon can be effectively avoided, and the user experience is improved. The invention furthermore discloses a data file reading apparatus and device, and a computer readable storage medium, which have the abovementioned beneficial effects.
