no. 1 approach

[0054] First, a first embodiment will be described. The first embodiment provides a ridge display device capable of tracking ridges even when the structure is deformed.

[0055] When the structure deforms, it is difficult to accurately track the ridges. One reason for this is that when the structure deforms, the grid points are computationally in motion with respect to the moving boundary problem, and thus generate apparent forces.

[0056] Coriolis forces are a simple example of apparent forces. If a cannonball is fired by an observer who remains stationary on Earth, it appears to the observer that forces that cannot be explained by centrifugal force alone are bending the trajectory of the cannonball. This is because, when viewed from space, the observer himself or herself is also moving with the earth. That is, the observer has an acceleration, and this acceleration produces an apparent force. Such forces that are not intrinsic but appear to act due to the observer's mot...

no. 2 approach

[0070] Next, a second embodiment will be described. The second embodiment provides a visualization device capable of visualizing ridges of blood flow in the heart following the movement of the heart.

[0071] For example, using computational fluid analysis it is possible to simulate the behavior of fluids, even in systems that are technically or ethically difficult to measure, such as blood flow transport in the heart. Therefore, computational fluid analysis is used to discuss the treatment of congenital heart disease and the like in which there is a malfunction in blood flow transmission in the heart. That is, computational fluid analysis is an important technique. By visualizing the results of such computational fluid analysis using a visualization device, health care professionals such as doctors can easily understand the analysis results and make treatment plans.

[0072] figure 2 A system configuration example according to the second embodiment is shown. The visualiz...

Abstract

The invention discloses a streakline visualization apparatus and method. In the streakline visualization apparatus, a processing unit calculates, by using an expression including a correction value for correcting an error attributable to accelerated motion of a plurality of grid points represented by position information, time differential values of velocities of fluid on the plurality of grid points at each of the plurality of first time points. The processing unit calculates, based on the velocities and the time differential values of the velocities of the fluid on the plurality of grid points at each of the plurality of first time points, positions of a series of a plurality of particles sequentially outputted from a particle generation source as analysis time progresses at each of a plurality of second time points having a second time interval shorter than the first time interval. The processing unit generates display information about a streakline indicating the series of the plurality of particles.

Description

technical field [0001] Embodiments discussed herein relate to ridge visualization devices and methods. Background technique [0002] Fluid mechanics is one of the academic fields within mechanics, and it describes the behavior of fluids. Fluid mechanics has been applied to various industrial fields in which not only the flow of air or water but also the transfer of physical quantities such as temperature or concentration are dealt with as problems. For example, fluid mechanics has been applied to wind tunnel experiments to evaluate vehicle prototypes, and the aerodynamic properties of these vehicles have been optimized on the basis of the experimental results. However, these wind tunnel experiments are very expensive. Therefore, instead of wind tunnel experiments, computer simulations (fluid simulations) simulating wind tunnel experiments have been performed by using computational fluid dynamics. [0003] Recent improvements in computer performance have led to rapid progr...
