The method comprises the steps that according to a preset arrester basic constraint equation, the arrester is used to calculate an instantaneous current at a simulation time point under an instantaneous voltage at the time point; according to the instantaneous voltage and the instantaneous current, instantaneous power and instantaneous resistance at the time point are calculated; according to the instantaneous voltage, the instantaneous current, the instantaneous power and the instantaneous resistance, a resistance value of the arrester in a simulation time period is calculated; and according to the resistance value, electromechanical transient simulation modeling is performed.Through the modeling method and system, the function of the arrester can be approximately simulated in electromechanical transient simulation, and therefore the electromechanical transient simulationprecision of a power transmission system is improved.
