The data processing method comprises the steps that a terminal device receives first configuration information sent by a network device, wherein the first configuration information comprises preemption indication information, and the preemption indication information indicates the preemption capability of a first logical channel; before an MAC layer PDU is multiplexed or the multiplexed MAC layer PDU is transmitted to a physical layer and when the MAC layer is provided with a first data unit, the terminal device preempts resources, which are allocated for a second data unit by the terminal device, for the first data unit according to the preemption indication information, wherein the first data unit corresponds to the first logical channel; the second data unit corresponds to the second logic channel; the terminal device uses the preempted resources to multiplex the first data element. Therefore, timely transmission of important data is guaranteed, and the requirement of low time delay is met.
