Abstract

The invention discloses a production technology of low-cost high-performance medium carbon steel. The production technology comprises a heat treatment process and a warm-rolling process. According tothe heat treatment process, a medium carbon steel blank is heated to 850-865 DEG C in a heating furnace, and heat preservation is carried out; and then the steel blank is put into hot water with the temperature of 84-88 DEG C for quenching. According to the method, the pre-treatment is carried out before the warm-rolling process of the medium carbon steel, so that precipitation amount of proeutectoid ferrite is reduced, the number of pearlite is increased, and a small amount of the proeutectoid ferrite is controlled to be distributed in a strip shape along the grain boundary of the pearlite; and then the ferrite is enabled to form fine subgrains by reasonably controlling parameters of the warm-rolling process, the final structure is a complex phase structure with the ultrafine ferrite andgranular carbide, so that the mechanical property of the medium carbon steel is remarkably improved; all performance indexes of the medium carbon steel produced by the method are obviously improved, and the strength performance equivalent to the strength performance of commercial alloy steel is achieved, so that the addition of expensive alloy elements is avoided, and the welding performance is facilitated due to the decrease of the content of the alloy elements.
